A love letter to the well lived home and all the things that happen within her walls.
I've been in my share of homes. From the sprawling estates of the Hollywood elite to cozy New Mexico adobes and Earthships to chic Parisian apartments to Scandi-minimalist eco farmhouses in the countryside of Sweden to historic Riads in Morocco, my lens has seen them all. My images of homes have been featured in Architectural Digest, Domino, Vogue Living, MyDomaine, Dwell, Sunset, Vanity Fair Italia, InStyle Germany (to name a few) and across multiple advertising campaigns, I've scouted and rented countless homes for photo shoots as a producer and I've stayed in over 50 Airbnb's in multiple US states and countries. Some homes are pristine, every single detail perfect and easy to shoot as soon as I get there. They feel like they were built just to document in a photo for inspiration, so perfect that no one could possibly LIVE there, where messes don't exist and people come and go like passing ships in the night. And then there are well lived homes - the homes where the stains on the counter tell of the meals cooked and shared, where the walls carry the stories of the love and passion and arguments and joys and heartbreak, where lives have been lived, messes have been made - they are filled with life and texture and memories and tell the tale of the people who have come and gone. This is my love letter to the well lived home, and all the things that happen within her walls. And yes, all images and stories are my own and I own the rights to all my images featured here.
Here you'll find the stories behind some of my favorite shoots, inspiring well lived homes filled with texture and collections that I will shoot exclusively for this platform (have a home you think I'll want to come shoot? email me here and let's talk about it), designer and artist spotlights, meals created and shared. Because I get to spend my days in the homes of so many amazing artists, creatives, makers, founders, and inspiring humans, I get to know what people are really using at home and I will share those things here, authentically. I'll include kitchen staples and products that are "Jenna Approved" - something my family has said for years when I recommend something, because they know I'm incredibly picky with how things are sourced, with what I'll put in my body, with what I'll use on my skin, with what I'll cook with and what I use every day. You'll eventually find a store to purchase prints for your home, things that I've curated or collected, things that talented friends make, things that I think are worth sharing, favorite olive oils and salts...but all in good time, because I'm still a working photographer! You'll find recipes with locally sourced seasonal ingredients that will always be nutrient dense and easily modified so that whoever you're having over for dinner will be able to enjoy the meal, even if they have restrictions - but I promise, they'll be tasty for those who eat all the things too. And there's more, but it will come in time.
Welcome in. Put your feet up. Get inspired, let go, and embrace the perfectly imperfect world of The Well Lived Home.
